System Requirements

Multi-server environments	Therefore™ Services must be started and configured with the proper network access permissions. Note: the Local System account will not have permission to access network resources (only Therefore™ Business and Therefore™ Enterprise editions).

•It is highly recommended to check the database provider's client licensing requirements. Some database providers may require all users accessing information from the database (e.g. from Therefore™ clients) to have a valid user license.

•Multi-server systems: all servers must be Therefore™ 2017.

•For thumbnail previews of videos, Windows Media® Player and all required codecs must be installed. In addition the video extensions must be listed in the Media Extensions list in Therefore™ Solution Designer advanced settings.

•For Oracle: a native database client communication software must be installed and configured.

•For Oracle: When Unicode characters that are not in the database character set are used in Therefore™ system settings, these will not be saved properly. If UTF-8 is used this problem will not occur.

•Certain prerequisites, for example Microsoft® .NET, are installed automatically if the Therefore™ Setup finds these missing before installation.

•The Therefore™ Personal edition requires the Therefore™ Server to be installed and not Therefore™ Client. In this case the supported Windows client operating systems can be used.

•The Reporting module requires Windows Server® 2008 R2 and SQL Server Reporting Services 2008 R2 or later for full functionality. SQL Express with Advanced Services also supports the Reporting module, but subscriptions are not possible.

•Therefore™ Capture Client engine requires an ISIS® driver, or Kofax® VirtualReScan® V.5+.

•Therefore™ Viewer requires a scanner with TWAIN® support.

•Opening Microsoft Office documents directly in their native applications is only supported under Microsoft® Internet Explorer® 32-bit. The matching Office application must also be installed on the client machine.

•Drag and drop from Windows Explorer is supported on all browsers but Internet Explorer must be version 10+.

•JavaScript must be enabled on all browsers.

•Internet Explorer: Caching and browser scripting must be enabled.

Therefore™ Universal Connector

3rd Party Application	•Windows® applications using standard Windows controls are supported, but each application has to be checked for compatibility to definitely know whether it works with the Universal Connector or not. Please see Determining Suitability for more details. •Web Applications running on Internet Explorer® 8 or above are generally supported, but should be checked first (e.g. with a demo or evaluation version).
Permissions	The user needs to be a domain Administrator to log onto the Therefore™ Server. To configure a profile the user requires administrator rights on the Therefore™ system.

Therefore™ Reporting

Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services

•This feature requires Microsoft® SQL Server 2008 R2 or later.

•SQL Express with Advanced Services is supported, but subscriptions are not possible.

•In order to edit reports, an .rdl editor must be installed. We recommend downloading the free Microsoft SQL Report Builder compatible with your database version.

•For report subscriptions, a Windows user account with at least Read permissions on the Therefore™ database must be configured.

•The reporting services must be properly configured.

Microsoft Power BI

•A Microsoft Azure account is required to access Microsoft Power BI.

•A Windows user account with at least Read permissions on the Therefore™ database must be configured.

Therefore™ Table Replication

•Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2+, Oracle 11g.2+

•For Microsoft SQL Server: Operating system where replication service is installed must be at least Windows Server 2008 R2 or Windows 7.

•The Therefore™ Replication Service must be installed on a machine with access to the source database or alternatively, a client or workstation that has 24/7 access to the source database.

•Column type must be supported (see white paper "Best Practice to Connect to an External Database").

Therefore™ Mailbox Monitoring

•Therefore™ Content Connector.

•Microsoft Exchange, IMAP or POP3 email account.

Integration with Microsoft® Office

•Microsoft® Word, Excel®, Outlook®, PowerPoint® and Microsoft® Project are supported with Microsoft Office 2010, 2013, 2016 and Office 365.

•Open from Therefore™ does not apply to integration with Outlook.

Integration with DocuSign®

•Therefore™ Content Connector is required.

•The Therefore™ Connector for DocuSign® needs to be installed. See Therefore™ Server Features.

•For manually passing documents to DocuSign® using the Therefore™ Viewer, a DocuSign® account is required.

•For automatically passing documents to DocuSign® using Therefore™ Workflow, a DocuSign® account and a Therefore™ edition including workflow are required.

•To prevent time-out issues total size of uploaded documents from Therefore™ should not exceed 15MB.

Virtualization

Therefore™ can be used in any virtualization environment that meets the Therefore™ system requirements.

Citrix® environment

•Therefore™ Server must be installed outside of the Citrix environment.

•Only the Therefore™ Client software can be installed on the Citrix environment.

eCopy® PDF Pro Office

eCopy® PDF Pro Office version 5.3 and above.
